When I was just 9 year old, I was diagnosed for Leprosy. I didn't get a proper treatment at initial stage of the disease due to lack of awareness. And it deformed some of my limbs for lifelong. Social discrimination & exclusion trapped me between life & death. But a disease can't define who I am. Thanks to NGOs, Hospitals & People for helping & making me capable to lead my life with dignity.
As a Leprosy Affected Person, I would like to request you all to increase awareness about the disease, it's completely curable and advocate for the elimination of discrimination and negative stereotypes associated with leprosy.
